Christian Meditation

Simplicity, Silence and Stillness

Christian Meditation at St Mark's

7pm | The first and third Sunday each month

In a busy and noisy world, Christian meditation offers an opportunity to slow down, be still, and rest in God's presence.

At St Mark's, we practise Christian meditation in the tradition of the World Community for Christian Meditation (WCCM). This practice is rooted in the teachings of Jesus and the wisdom of the early Christian monks and nuns who sought God through prayer, silence and simplicity.

It is a simple form of prayer that helps us open our hearts to God's love and transforming presence. By setting aside time to be still, we learn to listen more deeply to God and to discover a greater sense of peace, attentiveness and compassion in our daily lives.

Christian Meditation is not about achieving anything or emptying the mind. Rather, it is about being present to God with openness and trust. Anyone can practise Christian meditation, whether they are new to faith or have been following Christ for many years.

For many, Christian meditation complements other forms of prayer and worship, helping us grow in our relationship with Christ and in our service of others. For others, Christian meditation is a way of engaging with faith when church and words are too hard.

Whether you are curious about meditation or have an established practice, you are warmly welcome to join us.
